I got this book carousel for my 4 year old's bedroom and it holds quite a few books. I loved that it came fully assembled and is made very well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because if you don't have the books lined up right they can fall out, which has happened a few times when my son tried to pull a book out from the middle of a stack.

I have this in my child's bedroom. I got this when my son was a year and a half, now he's almost 2, and he loves it! He likes that he can access his books at any time. I like it because it stores board books nicely and it also teaches him how to put his books away. I love that it turns so that you are able to store more books, especially the bulky board books. I like that it's sturdy so that my son cannot push it over.

The product arrived without the plug to keep the ballbearings in place and without the three screws to keep the base in place. As a result, the unit was missing half of the bearings needed to turn properly. We tried to correct this by painstakingly putting the ballbearings back into their groove only to have them fall back out of place, when we turned the unit upright. It was too heavy to send back, so now it is just an expensive bookshelf that does not turn.
BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The bookshelf just arrived ([...] and I am VERY pleased with it! I love how heavy and sturdy it is, and it appears to be very well made with thick, solid wood. They altered the design a bit from what is shown in the picture - all changes for the better in my opinion. It does not have the "feet" as shown above. It has only 3 white pegs attached to the bottom circle, allowing the bookshelf to sit flush against the floor (I have it on carpet). This will prevent anything from sliding underneath the bookshelf. Because of this change, I'm sure, the height is actually 30" rather than the 32" advertised in the title, which is even better for our purposes. The two shelves are each about 13 1/2"H, which fit all of my daughter's books just fine. We have a couple books that are just under 11" long and they stick out a bit. It don't foresee this causing any problems, but if you have books wider than that, as some children's books are, you probably won't be able to fit them on this bookshelf. Also shown in the picture are 2 exposed screws on each of the 4 half circle bookends. These are not on the model I received (thank goodness!) It looks so much better without that! Along those lines, the verticle center boards are exactly even on the top and bottom shelves, unlike in the picture. In short, the model I received looks so much better than the picture! The only complaint I have is that it turns louder than I expected it to, but it's not bad enough to be a deal-breaker. Overall, this is a great bookshelf that greatly added organization to my child's room without taking up a lot of space. [...] Very pleased!

I absolutely love this carousel. The wood is beautiful and my 2 year old can easily turn it to find the book he wants us to read. it fits in a small nook where I would not have room for a full bookcase. It holds so many books and organized the huge mess we had in his room with books everywhere. I love that it came fully assembled. I was able to pull it out of the box and place it in my son's room within 10 minutes of it being delivered.
