I was impressed that the desk came with two steel frames that increases the stablility of the unit. From past experiences with assembling units that did not have a steel frame the unit would have a tendancy to become wobbly when trying to move it around. The packing was done very nicely and the hardware, screws, etc. were neatly secured in a sealed plastic enclosure reassuring you that all the parts are there. Assembly was quite simple providing you follow the steps exactly as instructed (it became obvious that a great deal of thought went into writing these instructions). So if something went wrong it was probably because you either missed a step or did not follow the instructions (this happened to me because I thought I knew how it was to be assembled - when it was wrong I backtracked saw the step I missed in the directions, corrected it and continued working until completion). The only real problem I've had with this product was the door alignment. I called the manufacturer and three days later I had a replacement door. I then realized that the other door could not be properly aligned - again 3 days later I had another door. The problem with the door is that it came recessed for attachment to the hinge that was off by a 1/4 of an inch and prevented the door from properly closing. The replacement door they sent came without the recess (mortise) for the hinge and thereby allowed for proper alignment.
