| Stage I: Heating Test |
Safe is exposed to over 1000° C in an airtight gas furnace for 2 hours

| Stage II: Drop Test |
Immediately after the heating test
Red hot safe is lifted and dropped from a height of 30 feet (9.1 meters)

| Stage III: Re-Heating Test |
After the drop test the safe is reheated in the furnace at a mean temperature of 1090° C (2010° F) for an additional 45 minutes

| Test Results |
Besides the melting of some metal fittings on the external door, which had low melting points, the interior of the Mesa Safe remained intact
The internal temperature of the Mesa Safe was at 130° C (260° F), well below the paper tolerance level of 232° C (450° F)
