Established in 1939 as the Engineering Supply Company, Mayline has come a long way from its expertise in drafting tables, blueprint files and straightedges. The war years capitalized on our high quality and precision manufacturing for providing highly accurate navigational and mapping accessories for all branches of the military.
Though still a market leader in manual drawing (they invented the straightedge) and large format filing, Mayline has moved to the forefront of office ergonomics. The Mayline Group now includes Tiffany Industries, Kwik File and Mayline products. More on Mayline...

Comments about Mayline Eastwinds Bookcases:
At[$]for the five shelve unit, I knew the construction would not be top of the line. It does bend and sway a little when you move things on and off of it, but this was expected. But, just sitting there it looks great.Light enough for one person to move.

I got the gray/black finish. It looks sleek to me, meshes well with glass/black metal furniture.

Comments about Mayline Eastwinds Bookcases:
I bought 6 of the 5 shelf bookshelves. They were easy to put together and relieved my shelving crunch. Not the most attractive shelves in the world but functional and I would happily buy more of them.

Comments about Mayline Eastwinds Bookcases:
Pros: cheap [...] and very easy to assemble. Wide shelves, good quality material.Cons: LOOKS AWFUL. I got the black shelves, which I thought would go well with the "steel" body. But the steel looks like aluminum, and with the perforated sides and visible support rods at the back, this bookcase looks more like a computer hardware server rack. I put an inkjet printer on it, and the entire frame shakes when I print something. Maybe a black frame would have rescued this thing.Bottom line - it holds books well, but the cheap look is a deal breaker.
