would not have bought if knew assembly required. Now have to pay someone to assemble. . no longer a good value. Very disappointing.

[...] After I opened it and looked at the pieces, hardware, and instructions, I didn't even attempt to assemble it. I consider myself pretty handy,but this looked challenging. It took my son who's very handy over an hour to put it together. The cabinet looks good and holds quite a bit with a compact size. Well-constructed except for drawer backs and bottoms, which are cardboard.

This lateral file cabinet is heavy! Make sure you have it where you want it before you fill it up, it's hard to move even empty. My husband put this together with no trouble and I am very pleased with our purchase. I'm thinking about the cabinet with the glass doors that matches it next. [...]

Very good looking. File drawers are very smooth. Very happy with this product. Had a little trouble figuring out the drawer slide installation - instruction booklet generally easy to follow, but we had to think a bit about the drawer slides. Once we got it, was easy to finish.

Prompt delivery. One piece was damaged. Customer service responding instantly and knowledgeably, and sent our a replacement piece immediately. Very responsive.

besides being well crafted, sturdy & stylish, the price was right & we can't believe how easy the drawers roll in & out & how it latches easily into place to stay closed...really surprising how it does not tip forward when drawer is fully extended & full of files, that shows attention to detail in the design

This is a good value for the money. Piece is heavy, but I wouldn't say heavy duty. I needed a stylish way to store my rarely used/accessed files and this is it. If you get in this thing a couple times a day, then you might want to look elsewhere..I don't think it would hold up.
